Blonde, brown, even black. Nothing ever quite did it for me. So I was really in the mood for something completely new. Suddenly I got the idea of a whole new hair color. But it was a very long road before I actually liked dark red hair.

Dark Red Hair and How I Got Used to It

I've liked dark red hair for a while now. But as I said, it was a rather arduous road at first, full of doubts. Somehow I wanted color. But what counts as colorful, and when does it become too colorful? Green was out, because I probably would have lost my job. Pink looked more like a wild little girl, yellow looked like cheap blonde or a mistake, and blue hair was out of the question anyway. After some thought, I had finally landed on red.

But should it really be red? After I'd decided, new doubts suddenly overcame me. It was one big back and forth until I finally had the perfect hair color on my head. You could almost call it an ordeal.

Dark Red Hair Finally Made Me Happy and Content

So red was now the color of choice. But the doubts came back, because I was afraid of looking like a fire extinguisher. Bright red was therefore completely out of the question. So I finally settled on a subtle dark red. Now I finally felt a breath of fresh air and a much-needed change. My head felt brand new, and I loved looking in the mirror every single time. Today I wonder how such a dilemma could even come about in the first place. Simple! I was unhappy and had no real plan for what the alternative could be. Now I finally know what I want.

When the dark red grows out, I'll most likely touch it up with new color. Why not? After all, it looks good on me. And I'm absolutely not alone in that opinion, because plenty of other people have already confirmed it. I don't even know whether I'll ever try another hair color again, because right now I'm super happy. Changing my hair color was an important and decisive step for me. I can only recommend that anyone in a similar situation do exactly what I did. Certain changes can steer your whole life in a positive direction.
